CLASSROOM CONSTRUCTION COMMUNITY MONITORING TOOL

Uganda Contracts Monitoring Coalition (UCMC) is an initiative of Ugandan civil society organizations, Government, Private Sector actors and the World Bank. This classroom construction community monitoring tool was developed with inputs from the Ministry of Education and Sports, the Public Procurement and Disposal of Public Assets Authority (PPDA), civil society coalition members, private sector and the World Bank.

For the monitoring of classroom construction projects is easy when guided by community monitory tool that is ordinary, nontechnical and friendly through for everybody in the community. This tool also captures and takes control of all the contractor’s duties at the site right from the preliminary stages until the construction is completed.
It should be emphasized that the Monitors should understand the issues to address whilst on site. The use of this tool is most effective when used throughout the Construction Process. It is therefore for these purposes that these guidance notes have been developed.

This construction monitoring tool has been developed to ensure that value for money is realized for all stakeholders during the construction process.
